Day 10: The elements are against you. Fight back.
We added pushups to your pushups!
My goal for the day is to do normal (non-granny) pushups through all the sets. If I could maintain that, then I’d be happy regardless of how many I could do.
I kept the numbers down to 5 because I knew doing ten sets would be rough. I managed to do 5 each of normal and wide grip pushups, except for the 5th set where I got 4 normal (faltered on the 3rd one), and 3 wide grip.
And the most important point (that I keep iterating) – no shoulder pain!
My hands/wrists were sore by the end. I was focusing a lot on form, trying to push more with upper palm & fingers instead of letting it all fall on the bottom of my palm and I think it helped. I also watched for the angle of my elbows, they’d flare out to 90 degrees by their own and I tried to pull them back to a 45 degree angle. I could feel it in my chest a lot more when I moved them down, which is a good thing.
I think I got a decent amount of work into the chest muscles today, which is exactly what I need. I believe the next time pushups are required it’s one group of “to failure” per set instead of two, I’ll be trying for more reps then.
Weapons Training was 100 Double Turning Kicks, went the same as the rest – worked legs more than they used to be, enjoyed the effort of maintaining balance throughout, and I’m overall liking this A LOT more than planks. I did 20 kicks of left, right, left, right, and then 10 each of left & right. Feel like I’ll be in pretty good state for tomorrow.
