Hero’s Journey 2 Day 55: The Final Challenge “100”

Day 55: A true hero never gives up.

A day so nice, I’m doing it twice.

Previous two days’ exercise time block was taken up by the auto repair shop, dropping off and picking up the car. Being an adult is fun!

So it took me a bit to figure out what the levels were in this day:

Level I: Throughout the Day Level II: Repeat Once Level III: Twice in One Day

I didn’t understand the difference between II and III – how else could I repeat it unless I was doing it in the same day? Then I finally realized it probably means to repeat the exercises the next day. It’s funny that I barely even LOOKED at the higher levels the first time I was doing this.

10 pushups
25 squats
10 pushups
25 squats
10 pushups

Ten pushups still feels like the sweet spot for not tiring the muscles too much, while still getting in a decent number of reps. Figure I’ll try book-ending everything I do with 10 pushups all over the place until I get enough of them out.

10 pushups
25 lunges

10 pushups

There we go, the hardest three groups of exercises done! And unfortunately I’m out of time in the morning, I’ll have to finish up the rest when I get home from work.

50 shoulder taps
25 situps
50 shoulder taps
25 situps
50 climbers
25 situps
50 climbers
25 situps

Situps are the new pushups – I slacked on doing them (crunches instead) so now I’m not as strong as I should be. But I’ve built up enough muscle between crunches and plank-y things that I was able to power through them.

I think I’ll try for Level II, which is doing all this again tomorrow. If anything gives me trouble, I expect it to be my abs, which HOPEFULLY should be ok. I had to walk up 6 flights of stairs in the parking garage coming home from work, and my legs didn’t even feel sore from this morning’s workout.

50 shoulder taps
25 squats

And the winner for the “boy, that hurts” award is… my butt! Surprisingly my glutes are a bit sore, I’m guessing from all the squats and lunges that don’t normally work it much. Huh.

10 pushups
25 squats
10 pushups
25 squats
10 pushups

So while my shoulders and triceps aren’t SORE per se, they are a bit weak and the pushups are harder than yesterday. Going to save the other half of the pushups, lunges, climbers, and situps for after work.

10 pushups
50 climbers
25 lunges
10 pushups
50 climbers
25 lunges

10 pushups
25 situps
25 lunges
10 pushups

25 lunges

Stomach muscles did pretty well. Overall I’m happy with how much endurance everything had. Nothing feels SORE now, but everything’s just TIRED. All the muscles feel weak. Very glad tomorrow’s a rest day.
